Sherman Oaks Mission Makes Another Clear

How come people are not as happy as they would like to be? How is it that we don't always achieve our goals and live to our full potential? What are such things as anxieties, stress and depressions? Why do we have trouble in relationships with others, even when we love them?

Is there are a source for these conditions that could be handled or are they somehow natural and we just need to cope with them?

The answer is–these conditions are NOT natural to any individual. You CAN get them fully handled and be happy.

In Dianetics^® it was found that the only source of all problems, stress, unhappiness and self-doubt lays in a certain part of a person's mind. Called the reactive mind, this is a hidden part of your mind that stores all painful experiences and then uses them against you.

The reactive mind works on a totally stimulus-response basis, which is not under a person’s volitional control, and which exerts force and the power of command over his awareness, purposes, thoughts, body and actions.
